This fi-compass study aims to support EAFRD managing authorities in planning and programming the use of financial instruments in their CAP Strategic Plans for the 2021-2027 programming period.
The study investigates the financing needs of the agriculture and agri-food sectors in 24 EU Member States.
It draws on the results of two EU-level surveys focusing on access to finance conditions of more than 7 600 farmers and 2 200 agri-food enterprises. The study identified a significant financing gap of EUR 19.7 – 46.6 billion for agriculture and more than EUR 12.8 billion for the agri-food sector. The 24 fi-compass country reports further shed light on investment drivers, financing supply and relevant difficulties in accessing finance for the two sectors, with a focus on young farmers. The analyses also offer conclusions to address the identified gaps.
